I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "When Sparrows Fall" by Meg Moseley from Waterbrook Multnomah as part of their book review team. The opinions below are my honest opinion of the book. This is the story of Miranda Hanford who is a widow and mom to six children. She lives a very private and quiet life and attends church with a very close-knit church family. Mason is the leader of the church she attends and when he decides to move his entire congregation to another state, Miranda sees this as her chance to remove herself from Mason's controlling ways. Mason does not want that to happen so he threatens to unearth secrets from her past. She feels the need to protect her children and is forced to do what Mason says. Her oldest son, Timothy, contacts their Uncle Jack who is a college professor. Timothy informs Jack that Miranda has been hurt and while she gets better, Jack will be their legal guardian. Jack falls in love with the children and brings life back into them. He does challenge their conservative lifestyle which makes Miranda upset at times. Miranda longs for freedom, safety, and love and this story is her journey to reclaim these things for not only herself, but also her children. This is a wonderful story of hope and love and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading Christian fiction. Meg Moseley tells a wonderful, engaging story. Book Review: "How to be God's Little Princess" by Sheila Walsh
I recently received a complimentary copy of "How To Be God's Little Princess" by Sheila Walsh for a book review from Thomas Nelson Publishing as part of the Booksneeze review team. The opinions of the book are my honest opinion.
Sheila Walsh is the popular author of the Gigi series "God's Little Princess." Both of my girls just love Gigi so I was super excited to do a review on this book. Upon receiving it in the mail, my 5 year old was so happy and couldn't wait for me to read it to her. What little girl doesn't love a book on how to be a princess? This book goes through different sections from how to dress like a princess to how to be a good friend like a princess. I love that this book covers the heart of a princess and not just the outward appearance. It gives cute tips on manners, etiquette, and includes little quizzes and games and activities for your daughter to do. This will be a book that my daughter will keep and read for a long time. We read a few pages each night and she loves it. I know when she is able to read on her own, she will want to read it again on her own because she loves this book that much.

Book Review: "Love Food and Live Well" by Chantel Hobbs

I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "Love Food and Live Well" by Chantel Hobbs from WaterBrook Multnomah as part of their book review program. The opinions of the book below are my honest opinion of the book.
Chantel Hobbs is a life coach, personal trainer, marathon runner, wife, and mother of four who previously lost 200 pounds and has kept the weight off. This book tells about her 80/20 rule for eating and how you can apply it to your life to keep the weight off. This rule basically says that 20 percent of the time you can splurge on the foods you love and the remaining 80 percent of the time you eat only based on fueling your body and giving it foods for ultimate health. This book is wonderful in my opinion. Many times most diets totally cut out all foods that I love and this one allows you to splurge for special occasions and celebrations without feeling guilty. She also incorporates exercise and recipes into the book. It even has illustrations of all the exercises she recommends so that is quite helpful. I plan to use this book as a resource book when I start trying to lose my baby weight after having my third baby one month ago. You can go here to read an excerpt from the book if interested.
Book Review: "Deeper into the Word: New Testament" by Keri Wyatt Kent

I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "Deeper into the Word: New Testament" by Keri Wyatt Kent from Bethany House Publishers as part of their book review program. The opinions listed below are my honest opinion of the book.
This book is a wonderful resource book to have on hand to use as a reference or a devotional tool. Keri takes a look at 100 words from the Word of God and goes in depth on the original meaning of each one. It answers questions that you may have on why did God choose a certain word over another or what does this word imply in its original language that you can't understand or see in English. It is organized alphabetically which is a great help in finding a word you want to look up. She gives the Greek word and its history and meaning and then explains what the word means and how we can apply it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone in their everyday Bible study to dig deeper into the meaning of the Words God so carefully chose to give to us in the Bible.

Book Review: "Blind Hope" by Kim Meeder and Laurie Sacher

I recently received a complimentary copy of "Blind Hope" by Kim Meeder and Laurie Sacher from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing company as part of their book review program. The opinions below are my honest opinion of the book.
This is a wonderful and inspiring true story told through the voice of Kim Meeder about Laurie and a blind dog that rescues her in a way she was not expecting. Kim Meeder is the owner and operator, along with her husband, of Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch in central Oregon. It is a ranch that rescues abused and neglected horses and pairs them up with disadvantaged children all free of charge. The Ranch runs on the help of volunteers most of the time and Laurie Sacher was one of those volunteers. She now works there as a team leader, but before that she had an incredible journey at the ranch. Laurie had an aching and broken soul and reached out to save a dog in need. This dog, Mia, was a blind dog and taught Laurie all about unconditional and real love and trust. She also learned about the love of God and his grace for people who are not perfect. This story is wonderful and a great read. I love to read stories that are true and inspiring and this one was no exception. If you would like to read an excerpt from the book you may click this link.

Book Review: "unPlanned" by Abby Johnson with Cindy Lambert

I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "unPlanned" by Abby Johnson with Cindy Lambert from Tyndale Publishing as part of their book review program. The opinions listed below are my honest opinions of the book.
This is the incredible true story of Abby Johnson who quit her job in October 2009. Not a big deal to most people, but Abby made national news when she quit her job. She was the director of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Texas. She started working there in college in order to help women in crisis because she believed Planned Parenthood believed the same thing. Then things began to change and Abby was being asked to do things she was not comfortable with. After she assisted in an actual abortion procedure she quit her job and started working for Coalition for Life. This caused a huge uproar and through this story you will follow Abby through the drama, courtroom battles, and spiritual transformation that takes place in her life. This is a wonderful book to read especially for anyone who cares about the life-versus-rights debate and also anyone interested in helping women facing crisis pregnancies. A wonderful true and inspiring story and a great read.
Book Review: "The Beginning Reader's Bible"
I recently received a complimentary copy of the book "The Beginning Reader's Bible" from Thomas Nelson Publishing as part of the Booksneeze book review program. The opinions listed below are my honest opinion of the book. This wonderfully illustrated Children's Bible is a great addition to any home. The book has many stories from the Old and New Testaments that are written in a way that children can understand. The illustrations are beautiful and keep my children's attention the whole time. There is also a Memory verse, prayer section, and a put God's Word into action section for each story. I love that part and the fact that it gets my children involved in applying God's Word into their daily lives. It makes God's Word come alive for them to have an action step to take to put into practice what the Word says. It even has a red ribbon bookmark to keep your spot so you can pick up easily where you leave off. I would recommend this book to anyone with children of all ages as a great Bible storybook.
